How to wash broccoli properly for better hygiene at home.

Broccoli is one of the most complete and healthy vegetables available. It’s rich in vitamins, minerals, and plant-based protein, and it’s also easy to cook and very versatile in the kitchen. However, there’s a problem that many people overlook:  simply rinsing it with water isn’t enough .

Because of its structure full of small cavities, broccoli can harbor traces of dirt, pesticides, and even small insects. Therefore, learning how to clean it properly is key to consuming it safely.

Why isn’t washing it with water enough?

Broccoli florets are dense and compact. This makes them:

  • The dirt gets trapped inside
  • Chemical residues are not easily removed
  • Small insects remain hidden

A simple surface rinse will not penetrate these areas.
